Hurricane Harvey has brought devastating flooding to Houston, including closure of most Houston-area airports for anything other than humanitarian flights. This includes Houston's two commercial airports, William P. Hobby Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Hobby is the smaller of the two and is dominated by Southwest Airlines which normally has over 150 daily departures to at least 50 destinations. (The number of departures and destinations varies seasonally.) Four other airlines—American, Delta, JetBlue, and ViaAir—also serve Hobby from at least three airports not served by Southwest.
Hobby Airport has been closed since early Sunday morning at 2:55 am, with an expected reopening time of 8:00 am on Thursday at the time of this writing. Exceptions include five Southwest flights to Dallas to help at least 500 stranded passengers get out of Houston.
Today's Featured Map shows Southwest's 50 destinations from Houston Hobby (red), plus nine other destinations which are either served by other airlines or which are seasonal (navy blue).
