Featured Map: Death of Osama bin Laden (2 May 2011)
Late yesterday evening, U.S. President Barack Obama announced that Osama bin Laden had been killed in Abbottabad, Pakistan, after a firefight during a raid by U.S. Navy SEALs. Bin Laden was the leader of al-Qaeda, the organization which carried out the 9/11 attacks against the United States. Today's Featured Map shows the location of the compound where bin Laden was killed in relation to various cities in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
